In the medical field, especially in areas like radiology, it is crucial to stay up-to-date. Cutting edge technology can pass you by if steps are not taken to stay current. Radiology continuing education courses are the best way to stay current with the latest trends and technologies.
Completing a radiology continuing education course is equivalent to practicing for a sport. The more you practice, the better you get. Sure, you practice every day as you do your work. But sometimes, you need a coach, an equipment manager, or a trainer to help you succeed at a higher level. A good CE course will help you get the most out of your practice.
Learn anatomy quickly and pass!
Imagine a football player who doesn’t have “time” to work out in the gym. His chances of making the Patriots are slim. A baseball player who doesn’t practice his base running will undoubtedly make a mistake on the big day. A golfer who refuses to work on her putting will never win the big match.
In the medical field, practice is essential. A medical professional who refuses to learn the latest techniques will eventually run out of patients to car for. A professional who doesn’t learn new ways of keeping records or scheduling appointments will lose dollars off of his/her bottom line. It is essential for each of us to “practice” new ways of practicing medicine. A radiology continuing education course is our time to hit the gym and work out some kinks.
Brooks Robinson once said that “if you’re not practicing, somebody else is, somewhere, and he’ll be ready to take your job.” For the benefit of patients, the healthcare system, and our careers, let’s be sure to complete continuing education credits whenever possible. The effects will be well worth the effort.

The field of radiology is ever changing just as my field in nursing. Without continuing education every year, we would more than likely not even be aware of new technology or better ways to serve and take care of our patients. Taking the required courses today is easier because many of them can be taken online at our own convenience and at a lower cost.

thanks….
I like the analogy you make of radiology as a sport. It kinna makes sense to me. You gotta stay on top and in shape all the time.
Nice topic.Radiology continuing education is a really good option. In medical field you always have to be updated about your knowledge.
In the 21st century, pretty much ever field is constantly changing so additional training is always necessary to be up-to-date.
Radiology is among the most competitive fields of medicine and successful applicants are often at the top of their medical school class with board scores in the top 10th percentile.
Well I certainly hope doctors are always practicing to ensure their patients are receiving the finest care possible.
Radiology still has a long way to go. Maybe one thing to consider is making radiology safer.
Like they say, practice makes perfect.
Radiology is very difficult. I wish I could study this.
I was a nurse for over 20 years. And then I decided to study Radiology. I am over 40 years. People don;t let your age stop you from studying
Well, I thank the education of Radiology is a great step by government.
“if you’re not practicing, somebody else is, somewhere, and he’ll be ready to take your job.” Enjoyed this quote, so true! Thanks for sharing!
It’s just like Accounting, back in the old days they do it in paper works and much simpler. Nowadays technology takes over and you pretty much have to learn it all. In this profession (Radiology) it is a must simply because as what the quote says someone with experience or knowledge will soon replace you.
Radiology helps people everyday.
I would strongly advise those who want to enter radiology to invest in themselves and spend time/money on professional learning to train them on the essentials, and latest techniques. To master the art, you need to commit and absorb it 100% day in day out, this is how you can become a true professional. Use those around you too to share knowledge.
Radiology just is just like dentistry you need to constantly update yourself; continuing education’s the key.

I found you by Yahoo and just wanted to say thanks for the informative scores post!
Without Radiology, the health care field cannot exist. Thanks for this post.
Well Radiology is one of the hardest profession and very very limited school offers it.
Like with any profession, and especially with medical field, constant education is very important.
heard that going to a university for radiology will only teach you the theory, then after u finish @ the university, u have 2 intern somewhere to get the hands on experience.
So is it better to go to a university or a technical school?
A radiology technician can work in many different areas of radiology.
Like my father. Help him God !
My wife is nurse in local radiology clinic.
Hard job, but somebody must to do it.
How long is residency for a Radiology student?
Yes. You are true. I also find important to keep on practising and learning new techniques and above all sharing knowledge witho other rediologist colleagues. We should encourage these interchange of knowledge, honestly.
Hello Gustav,

Radiology seems to be a good field to take, thanks to your comprehensive article on this matter.
I think its amazing how an elite specialty like radiology would require so much continual education, but it makes total sense. Radiologists rely on technology advancements, and need to stay on top of what’s available.

It’s true that continuing education is the best way to stay updated with the latest technologies and trends. Not only people who are in the field of medicine should continue studying, but also other courses just like education. We should not let our selves stagnant in this fast growing economy for us not to be left behind.
What you say makes a lot of sense. The Brooks Robinson quote is so accurate and whatever field you are in, medical for example as that’s what this post is about, staying updated and on top is very important. Thanks for an inspiring post!
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
This post is well written.I am very much interested in the subject matter of your post. Thank you so much for sharing this information. Keep blogging.
Swapnil.
You make a good point, and a well thought out analogy. But it’s a bit like any job, if you don’t keep up to date with it and stay familiar with the latest practices then it’ll leave you behind. The best of any field, medical or not, are always learning and never happy with their level of understanding.
it’s rather hard to find an article related to this subject before i step to your blog. great information. this what i’m looking for.
anyway, is there any special requirements to take my radiology study?
I would agree that with any profession in the modern times we are in nowadays, it’s also quite important that we don’t get left behind by technology. Basic knowledge of everything is better than being specially skilled on just one.
As they say, never stop learning. You never want to be running behind a bus when everyone else are on it.

Always continue to improve your knowledge and education. Don’t stop!
I admire this post so much. Radiology continuing education is one of the finest option. In medical field you often have to be updated about your skill and knowledge.
Radiology just is just like dentistry you need to constantly update yourself; continuing education’s the key
Very true. You must continue to learn. Things change so quickly now. So keeping abreast of the current phase is so important.
Radiology is one of the most competitive in the field of medicine. Although we cannot deny that it is not safe. People in this field are expose to radiations and stuffs like that. I’m in the engineering field but I know some of these stuffs.
Anyway, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
Learning is always important independent of age, but especially in the medical field. I really hope everybody have the same insight.
Execlent article , i loved it,
